NATURE - SHOWING OFF
Maybe where you are, you are experiencing blustery fall days. Around Lyleʼs country studio the leaves are falling in masses of intoxicating golden and crimson hues. The Noahʼs Arc project is still in progress, and will be completed in the not too distant future. Also Lyle and Kurtis are preparing for an upcoming private Art Gala that will take place in early December of this year.
The photo above was just taken yesterday on the property of our Sopel Country Studio. Not sure if you can see - its a double rainbow. Here is some back story of how this photo got snapped just in time. Lyle mentioned he was working on some lily pads - spoiler alert for newest sculpture accent coming up soon. As he held one of these pads in his hands, he was trying to notice the prism of colour that shines through the gemstone, Crystaphase- when it is being sanded. As he was holding up this gem into the light to get a closer look. He happened to notice a small bright green and brown tree frog on the cement floor by the base of a utility sink.
He picked up the frog and took it over to show Kurtis who was sanding a jade form. When Kurtis saw the frog he began thinking about how to get the frog outside. As he looked out the window he happened to see a bright ribbon of colour. Stepping outside at that moment both Lyle and Kurtis could see a double rainbow, eminating - they reported unusually vivid colours. And got to revel in one of natureʼs more treasured performances.
Perhaps the frog in the studio was a distraction or a good omen, that alerted them to go outside at that moment. This small insignificant creature was the catalyst. A precursor that assisted nature to play out one of her glorious roles - a double rainbow in the sky. There was no practicality involved in this phenomena. Akin to the world of art - nature can also exist on the laurels of beauty alone. Showing off her most spectacular performance reminding us all to stop, reflect and embrace her gems.
Til Morrow,
Colette.
